Have you checked the prices of those bags of dried apple chips? YIKES! It's cheap and easy to make your own, and you don't need a dehydrator. These easy homemade apple chips are perfect for a healthy after school snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple any variety
  • cinnamon sugar substitute a cinnamon stevia mixture if you're avoiding sugar

Instructions

  1. Core the apple but do not peel.
  2. Using a mandolin, thinly slice the apple into rings. (Note: If you're not sure what a mandolin is, see the bottom of this article.)
  3. Place sliced apples on a parchment lined baking sheet. It's OK for the apples to overlap a little bit if needed.
  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  5. Bake at 200º for 2 hours.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool 5 minutes before serving your delicious easy homemade apple chips.
  7. Note: If you store them, they will not be as crispy the next day.
