Homemade Caramel Sauce Recipe
Once you discover how frugalicious and fast it is to make your own caramel sauce, you'll never buy the stuff in the jar again. Drizzle it on ice cream, pecan pie a la mode or any dessert that needs a pop of caramel! I'm warning you, this stuff is so good you just might eat it with a spoon!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 3 minutes
Total Time 8 minutes
- 1/2 cup brown sugar light or dark
- 3/4 cup whipping cream
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Put all ingredients in a small saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Boil 3 minutes.
If you're not using immediately, store in the refrigerator and warm in the microwave.
I’ve never made it myself but this sounds too simple not to try! I’ll be putting it on everything!
Please come back and rate this recipe after you’ve made it. Thanks!
Wow! I’m embarrassed to say I would have never known the first thing of making caramel, but this sounds so easy even a novice like myself could do it. Thank you so much for sharing!
Yum, yum! I’m gonna try this out over the weekend. 🙂
Love the recipe! We NEVER buy caramel out of a jar and use dark muscovado as the base and it always works a treat!
