Is Eureka Legit & Worth Using? (My Honest Review!)

There are lots of survey sites that pay cash and gift cards for sharing your opinion. One popular survey platform is Eureka Surveys. It has over 4 million members and says you can easily earn cash in your spare time. And it's a legit and safe way to turn your opinion into a bit of side income.

I also signed up for Eureka to give it a try. And honestly, while the survey rates are sometimes competitive, the disqualification rate I had was super high. This, plus the many negative reviews you see on Trustpilot, give me some doubts about Eureka Surveys.

This review is covering how the company works, my personal testing experience, and what other users also have to say so you can decide if this is the right survey site for you.

My Key Takeaways:

  • Eureka Surveys is a survey site and app that's available in North America
  • It has a low $5 cash out requirement and many surveys paying $1 or more
  • You can also make money with daily polls and by playing games
  • Rewards include PayPal money and many gift cards
  • I tested out Eureka and like the user interface is good, but the disqualification rate is very high
  • Eureka Surveys has many negative online reviews, but some users still love it

What Is Eureka Surveys?

Eureka Surveys is a paid survey website and app that lets you earn cash and free gift cards in exchange for sharing your opinion.

The platform has over 4 million members and says that it's the fastest way to make $5. It also says that 48% of members cash out $5 to PayPal within a day and even has a $1 sign up bonus to get you started.

Eureka Surveys website

If you use various gpt sites and micro task websites, Eureka Surveys should feel pretty familiar. All you have to do is sign up and then you can begin answering short surveys to make money.

Just note that Eureka Surveys is only available in the United States and Canada. You have to be 18 or older to sign up as well.

Is Eureka Legit?

Eureka lets you make money by completing surveys and is a legit company. However, the company is poorly rated on Trustpilot with a 1.8 star average and a lot of 1 star reviews. Many people complain it's impossible to cash out and that Eureka Surveys is a scam.

Is Eureka legit or a scam

When I tested out Eureka for this review, I found it was easy to navigate and sign up for. But my surveys were all pretty low-paying and I wasn't very excited but using the platform. Plus, all of the negative reviews on Trustpilot are a massive red flag.

The high disqualification rate I had made matters worse. Overall, this isn't my favorite survey platform by any means.

You can still try Eureka Surveys if you want. But I suggest using high paying surveys like Branded Surveys and Kashkick instead.

How Does Eureka Surveys Work?

Answering surveys for money with Eureka Surveys is straightforward and takes six steps:

  1. Sign up for Eureka Surveys
  2. Complete Your Profile
  3. Answer Surveys
  4. Answer The Daily Poll
  5. Play games
  6. Cash Out

1. Sign Up

Signing up for Eureka Surveys is free, and you have to be 18 or older and live in the U.S. or Canada to join. When you sign up, here's the information you provide:

  • Your email address
  • Password
  • Gender
  • Year of birth
  • ZIP code

After you sign up, you have to verify your account by clicking on a verification link Eureka sends via email.

2. Complete Your Profile

Eureka promises new users a $1 first survey, and it sticks to this promise. When you first sign in, Eureka has a quick intro survey you can complete to earn $1.

My welcome survey was about 18 questions that asked about things like my age, demographics, employment status, and consumer preferences. It took about a minute to complete, and afterwards, I got paid the sign up bonus.

Now, Eureka Surveys also has a few more short surveys that pay around $0.25 to $0.45 for completing them. These surveys help complete your profile and let Eureka Surveys learn more about you to match you to more survey opportunities.

According to Eureka, completing your profile gets you 4 times more survey opportunities, so it's worth doing if you're serious about this side hustle. I only had a few welcome surveys that covered topics like entertainment, ridesharing, and Netflix.

I completed my entire Eureka Surveys profile in about 10 minutes and earned a little over $2 in the process. Eureka also asks you to enable location tracking and states this is another way to increase how many paid survey opportunities you land.

3. Answer Sweepstake Surveys

After you complete your profile, the main way to make money is to answer sweepstake surveys.

When you complete sweepstake surveys, you get a certain number of sweepstake entries for the weekly draw. You also earn a guaranteed reward, and Eureka says it pays $750 to $1,000 in free money to members every single week through its sweepstake system.

Sweepstake surveys also display how much time they take roughly and how much money you make for completing them. Many of the surveys on my dashboard take about 10 to 15 minutes and pay $1 to $1.50.

Eureka-sweepstake-surveys

This is about $5 to $6 per hour, which is on-par with more popular sites like Prolific and better than sites like InboxDollars.

But, I honestly had a pretty poor experience answering Eureka Surveys in this section, and after about 25 minutes of trying, I wasn't able to earn anything! Disqualifications are a huge problem with Eureka Surveys. Additionally, a lot of surveys rejected my Postal Code despite the fact I signed up with that same code.

Furthermore, one survey I was completing redirected from Ipsos iSay to a random survey site, and when I finished the survey, I just got redirected to another survey!

Overall, I found using Eureka Surveys to be very frustrating. I think disqualifications and the low payout rate mean you're probably earning $1 to $2 per hour max with this website.

4. Complete The Daily Poll

Like Swagbucks, Eureka Surveys has a one-question daily poll you can answer to earn $0.01.

Eureka-daily-poll

This is a measly amount of money but takes one click, and it's basically the only other way to make money on the platform.

Also note that Eureka has a referral program that pays you 10% commissions on your referral's earnings. This is a decent referral bonus, but again, Eureka is hard to make money with due to its poor survey system.

5. Play Games

Eureka is rolling out a new feature where you can make money by playing different mobile games. This is a similar idea to apps like Cash Giraffe and Rewarded Play, and it's nice that the platform keeps expanding.

However, there are so many cash games out there that have higher ratings than Eureka. So, I'd personally skip this earning option.

Cashing Out & Rewards

Eureka Surveys requires $5 to cash out with. You can redeem your earnings for PayPal cash, dozens of free gift cards, and charitable donations.

A $5 cash out requirement is the same as companies like Survey Junkie and better than sites like Toluna. But again, it's hard to actually get paid by completing surveys.

That said, gift card variety is decent. Some reward options include:

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Nice user interface and easy to use
  • Extensive reward variety, including PayPal cash and direct deposit
  • Quick sign up and profile completion process
  • A $1 sign up bonus
  • Weekly cash giveaways

Cons:

  • Very low survey payout rates
  • Disqualifications and broken surveys are common in my experience
  • Poor referral program
  • Not easy to find customer support information or a contact page
  • Very poor online reviews

Other Eureka Survey Reviews From Real Users

One good way to tell if a side hustle is legit or not is to see what other people have to say about their experiences. Personally, I couldn't make much money with Eureka Surveys, but what are other Eureka Survey reviews like?

Well, in a recent thread on Reddit beermoney, here's what some Eureka Survey users said about the platform:

  • lisa197 says: “Eureka is one of the absolute worst survey apps, imo…The surveys are quite glitchy and don’t always pay out. Oh, yeah, you also get entered in a sweepstakes drawing when you complete a survey. I’ve never won one.”
  • Zonflare says: “Use Qmee – in my opinion, much better. You don't mess with sweepstakes, you only get paid in cash and you can cash out any time. Also Prolific is great too, they don't have a mobile app but their website works great on mobile.”
  • flasher777 says: “Last time I used the app a month ago, there were just $0.10 studies where some took 15 min to enter some sweepstakes and if there were any studies they were so low and cheap.”

Judging by these testimonials, it looks like other users complain about the low pay and glitchy surveys that disqualify you. And again, the Trustpilot reviews also say it's a scam and doesn't pay.

One user mentions using apps like Qmee instead as well because you can cash out anytime, which is another pro of using different platforms.

My Favorite Eureka Survey Alternatives

After testing out this survey site, I don't think it's worth using. The disqualification rate is simply too high and there are many negative reviews.

Some of my recommended survey apps and sites include:

  • Branded Surveys – A leading survey site that lets you earn free PayPal cash and free gift cards for sharing your opinion.
  • EarnStar – A brand new survey app and site with awesome rates.
  • TopSurveys – Another new survey platform where you don't get disqualified.
  • Prime Opinion – A global survey site that now has gaming offers as well.
  • Five Surveys – Get paid $1 for every survey you complete!
  • AttaPoll – An easy-to-use survey app.
  • Survey Junkie – Lets you earn free gift cards and cash and you can cash out at $5.
  • Swagbucks – Answer surveys, watch ads and videos, play games, and even shop to earn gift cards and PayPal money.
  • Pinecone Research – Get paid $3 for every survey you complete.
  • Rakuten Insights – Earn Amazon gift cards and cash for sharing your opinion.

I also put out a video covering some fast-paying survey platforms you can use instead of Eureka Surveys.

Is There Customer Support?

You can contact Eureka at support@eurekasurveys.com if you have questions or didn't receive a reward after completing a survey.

Is There A Mobile App?

If you want to make money with your phone, you can now download the Eureka app for free on Android and iOS.

This app lets you use all of the same features as the web version, so you can answer surveys in your spare time to make a bit of extra pocket money.

Final Thoughts – Is Eureka Surveys Worth It?

I hope my Eureka review helps you decide if this survey site is worth using or not. Personally, I'm skipping this platform after testing it, and I think the negative online reviews are quite concerning. It could be worth it if you have a lower disqualification rate, but you'll have to test that out yourself.

There are also so many different ways to make money on the internet, from game apps that pay you PayPal money to sites like Appen where you can complete short online tasks to get paid.

You don't have to stick with lackluster survey sites. And again, always consider the opportunity cost of the side hustle you're doing so you don't miss out on more lucrative opportunities!
