A lot of users claim they have requested payments but never received their rewards. Some users also say Playful Rewards bans them without reason. And the overall earning potential is quite low.

Seriously. All the recent Google Play Store reviews say this app is a scam. I don't know if the app used to be good and now isn't paying its players, but we recommend proceeding with caution on this one. This app might not be as legit as it seems!

What Is Playful Rewards?

Playful Rewards is a free app for Android and iOS that lets you download new mobile games and earn for playing them.

It's similar to apps like Cash Giraffe and Mistplay. And on the surface, it looks like a pretty fun and easy way to earn a little side dough while you game.

I downloaded the app and signed up with my email address. From there, I was immediately prompted to download and play a couple of different games, including:

  • Monopoly GO
  • Dice Dreams
  • Solitaire Grand Harvest
  • Travel Town
  • Solitaire Cash

Some of these games, like Monopoly GO, claim that you can earn up to $875.52 by completing all of the milestones within the game. This sounds like a pretty sweet payday. But if you tap on a game, you'll find that Playful Rewards pays you for completing different milestones within the game.

Some of these milestones are easy, like downloading the app or completing the tutorial. But most of the high-paying milestones require serious grinding or even spending your own money.

This is how cash game apps typically work. So while it's technically possible to make hundreds of dollars, most players won't earn that much per hour. The exception is if you spend money on in-game purchases.

Anyways, Playful Rewards does pay you with coins, the in-app currency system, for downloading and playing games. And I did earn some coins for trying out Solitaire Harvest. But again, you're not going to earn more than a couple bucks every few days unless you put in some serious time playing.

Other Ways To Earn Playful Rewards Coins

One thing that Playful Rewards does well is rewarding players who spend a lot of time playing or depositing money in games.

For example, I had a nice “Spend $3, Earn $5” bonus offer in my account. This is under the “Events” tab, and there's all kinds of other special offers that pop up. If you spend money on in-game purchases, this could be pretty decent.

Playful Rewards also has streaks and daily login bonuses. These don't pay much. But it's nice the app has a few ways to snag free coins.

There's also another section where you can find more apps and games to download. This is in the “Arcade” section of the app.

You'll find plenty of familiar apps in here, like JustPlay, Bingo Cash, and all sorts of other games. I'm not sure why these games are in a different section of the app, and my main Playful Rewards games library only had 4 games to choose from, which is a bit odd.

How Do You Cash Out?

Playful Rewards says on its website you can cash out at $1 on its website, which is 10,000 coins. But in my app, I need to earn $10 USD equivalent to redeem a reward, so I think the minimum cash out requirement has been changed.

Now in terms of rewards, you can redeem PayPal cash, prepaid Visa cards, and free Amazon gift cards.

This is pretty decent selection. Although a $10 redemption minimum is definitely on the higher side. And again, many users complain about not getting paid, which is a red flag.

What’s The Overall Earning Potential?

This is where expectations matter. Playful Rewards isn’t going to replace your 9-to-5 or even your side hustle. At best, you’re looking at $5–$15 per month if you use the app regularly. This could be worth it if you spend a lot of time gaming, but really, this app doesn't pay that much.

You can potentially earn more if you spend money on in-app purchases. And again, some of the offers payout $50 to $100+ for certain milestones. But I don't think most gamers should expect this much.

And again – many recent reviews come from users who say they're not getting paid. So you might not earn anything at all!

Does Playful Rewards Actually Pay?

You can find payment proof for Playful Rewards online. However, you find way more reviews from players saying they've cashed out and haven't been paid. It seems like the app doesn't work well for many players, which is why I suggest trying alternatives with more proven track records.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Available on Android and iOS
  • Decent cash-back bonuses for in-app purchases
  • Easy to use

Cons:

  • Many negative reviews from users calling Playful Rewards a scam
  • Limited number of games in some countries
  • $10 cash out requirement
  • Low hourly earning potential unless you spend money on in-app purchases

What Are Some Better Alternatives We Recommend?

Until Playful Rewards' addresses its recent reviews (or they improve), I won't be testing out this app any longer.

Plus, there are some good Playful Rewards' alternatives you can consider. Some of my favorites include:

We also put out a video covering some legit gaming apps you can use instead of Playful Rewards. We've tested these and cashed out with them, so they have our seal of approval here at The Budget Diet!

Ultimately gaming reward apps won't make you very much money. But if you spend time gaming anyways, they're kind of like earning passive income.

Is Playful Rewards Worth It Or A Scam?

Bottom Line: Playful Rewards seems like a fun and easy way to get paid for playing video games. But this app doesn't pay much unless you spend money to accomplish the tougher milestones. And many recent reviews claim this app is a scam and doesn't pay.

For now, we aren't recommending using Playful Rewards. You can use companies like Cash Giraffe and Freecash instead. This might change if the reviews change, so our team is keeping an eye on this app. Hopefully, our review helps you decide if it's right for you.
