Here’s another creepy DIY project for Halloween. This gory eyeball necklace jar brings to mind Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory. You can wear it on Halloween to make your costume spookier or give it to a friend for laughs. All you need are steady hands and the following materials. Read on for the step-by-step instructions.

What you need:

  1. Small jar
  2. Necklace chain
  3. Cork
  4. Clay (white and red)
  5. Nail polish (black)
  6. Super glue
  7. Envirotex Lite Hardener
  8. Envirotex Lite Resin
  9. Q-tips (cotton swabs)
  10. Watercolors
  11. Knife
  12. Small plastic cups
  13. Headpin

Instructions:

Step 1: First, we are going to create the eyeballs. Take a small chunk of white clay and roll it into a ball. Repeat the step until you have created 5 balls. Each ball should be smaller than your fingernail.

Step 1: Make small balls using white clay.

Step 2: Take an even smaller piece of red clay and roll until it becomes a long strip. Using a knife, cut it into thin pieces to create veins.

Step 2: Create veins using strips of red clay.

Step 3: Grab an eyeball and create a small hole on one side. Carefully insert the red strips and arrange them to look like veins. Do the same with the other white balls. Put the eyeballs in the oven and bake at 102 degrees for 5 minutes.

Step 3: Make a small hole at the back of the white ball and insert the red strips.

Step 4: Using nail polish and some cotton swabs, add the details to the clay to make it look like real eyeballs.

Step 4: After baking the clay, add the details using nail polish and cotton swabs.

Step 5: With a set of watercolors, mix colors for the resin. Put the mixed colors into a plastic cup.

Step 5: Mix watercolor colors for the resin and put into a plastic cup.

Step 6: Pour about 2 tablespoons of hardener into the plastic cup with mixed colors. Pour the same amount of resin into the same plastic cup. Use a stick to mix. Afterward, pour it into the small jar. Leave it for about 2 hours.

Step 6: Pour two tablespoons of hardener and resin into the plastic cup.

Step 7: Now, we add the eyeballs. Since the mixture has hardened, use a stick to push them down into the resin. Be very careful in completing this task.

Step 7: Once the resin has hardened, add the eyeballs.

Step 8: Insert the headpin into the cork. Bend the end of the headpin into a loop. This where we will insert the necklace chain. Apply super glue around the sides of the cork and gradually insert it into the mouth of the jar.  Attach the necklace chain.

Step 8: Close the small jar with a cork.

Step 9: And you’re done! A spine-chilling necklace that you can give as a gift or as a Halloween favor.
