DIY Air Fresheners: A Non-Toxic Way Freshen Your Home

A DIY air fresheners to keep bathroom or kitchen smelling good. No need to buy from local store.

It is very important to make your living space inviting. This is the reason why we spend much on scent sprays, oil diffusers or scented candles. But get rid of those expensive brand name items! You can create you own air fresheners in just  minutes. Using only baking soda and scented essential oils, you can freshen up any space to smell wonderful. Read on for instrcutions.

What you need:

  1. Baking soda
  2. Essential oils
  3. Candle holder
  4. Mason jar with lid
  5. Candle
  6. Screwdriver and hammer
  7. Fork

Today, we are going to create two versions of easy-to-make air fresheners. If the materials are ready, then let's begin!

Grab the baking powder. Fill a quarter of the candle holder with it.

Step 1:First version: Fill a quarter of candle holder with baking soda.

Take your essential oil. You can choose any scents you desire for this project. Drop about 8-10 drops into the candle holder.

Step 2:Drop about 8-10 drops of essential oil.

Use fork to stir them up. You may notice clumps start to form, but just continue to stir until they are gone.

Step 3:Stir the mixture with fork.

For the finishing touch of our first version, place the candle on the middle. Then, light it up! A dual purpose project – a lovely candle and air freshener.

Step 4:Put candle on the middle and light it up.

Now, let's start with the second version. Take the mason jar and secure the lid. Grab the screwdriver and place the tip anywhere on the lid. Then, hammer it down to create a hole. Create about 4 holes on it but it depends on how large your mason jar is.

Step 5:Second version: Create holes on the lid of the jar with screwdriver and hammer.

Take out the lid. Do the same procedure as you did with the first one. Fill the jar with baking soda and drop some essential oils and mix them up with fork.

Step 6:Mix baking soda and essential oils in the jar.

Take back the lid on the jar. Secure it in place.

And you are finished! Two versions of air fresheners – inexpensive, easy and environmental-friendly!

Step 7:Let these two versions of air fresheners diffuse bad odors in your home or office.
