Matchmaker

For those who are speedy on their feet and with their brains, Match Maker is an intense and challenging game. We love it for Minute to Win It challenges that involve children. 6. Junk in the Trunk

Junk in the Trunk

One of our favorites, Junk in the Trunk comes in at number 6 for the creativity, fun factor, and laugh factor. This super funny Minute to Win It game requires the player to really work their hips and get active in order to win the challenge. 7. Ka Broom

Ka Broom

For those ninja-like players who want a real challenge, Ka Broom is the one to win! Sticky Situation

Another super fun Minute to Win It game, Sticky Situation reminds us a little bit of “quarters,” but much more kid-friendly and on a larger scale. The set-up is a little more complicated than some of the other games, but we feel the fun factor, the creativity and the excitement with this game is well worth it. Click here to read the Extreme Hanky Panky full review and see the game being played.

11. Hangnails

Hangnails

For those with a very steady hand, this is the perfect challenge! While it does require speed in order to beat the clock, this game focuses more on concentration and dexterity. With little set-up required and not many materials needed to play, this one is certainly deserving of it’s number 11 spot on our list. Players should be super careful during this challenge, as breathing too hard, having shaky hands, or trying to move too quickly can leave them “hanging” with a loss. Click here to read the Hangnails full review and see the game being played.

12. Mouth to Mouth

Mouth to Mouth

Don’t worry – this challenge isn’t quite as “close contact” as it sounds. This one has actually been around a while, and is reminiscent of the old “pull the tablecloth off the table without disturbing the table setting” trick. While it seems like it would be fairly easy, this one comes with a bit of a challenge. Those who successfully master it shouldn’t be surprised to see the other players standing with their “mouths” hanging open! Click here to read the Mouth to Mouth full review and see the game being played.

13. Mega Bubble

Mega Bubble

In this fun and hilarious challenge, players need a healthy set of lungs, as well as some serious dexterity! But before all of that, they need to know how to blow a healthy (and lasting) bubble. With points for creativity, fun and laugh factor, Mega Bubble comes in at number 13 on our Top 30 list. Players must work quickly with this challenge though, or their dreams of winning will surely burst. Click here to read the Mega Bubble full review and see the game being played.

14. Rapid Fire

Rapid Fire

All those hours spent flinging rubber bands across the classroom will come in handy with this challenge. Rapid Fire is a fast-paced, super-fun game that’s perfect for a head to head challenge. Set-up isn’t difficult and requires simple items that most people already have at home. We like this challenge for it’s fun factor, creativity and intensity. Those without great aim and speed certainly risk getting shot down! Click here to read the Rapid Fire full review and see the game being played.

15. Hoop de Loop

Hoop de Loop

The perfect challenge for creating teams, Hoop de Loop is reminiscent of games like horse shoes and ring toss, on a larger scale. The fun factor is super high with this one, and it’s great for families with children who want a fantastic addition to game night. The set-up isn’t difficult at all, and few supplies are needed. The game play is a little more difficult than it looks, though, so if you’re expecting an easy win, this one might throw you for a loop! Click here to read the Hoop de Loop full review and see the game being played.

16. Bucket Head

Bucket Head

We think the creativity, ease of set-up, and laugh factor of Bucket Head makes it one of the best Minute to Win It games! That doesn’t make it easy, though. It requires dexterity and speed in order to win this challenge. Players should be super careful not to take a ping pong ball to the eye while playing, but this is one to put on the “bucket” list for sure. Click here to read the Bucket Head full review and see the game being played.

17. This Blows

This Blows

Another of our favorite Minute to Win It games is This Blows, because it involves several challenging aspects that must be played well in order to win. The set-up is easy and requires things most people have around their homes, and this game is high in creativity and uniqueness. While it looks easy, it is actually pretty difficult, so players who are overconfident could easily blow it! Click here to read the This Blows full review and see the game being played.

18. Defying Gravity

Defying Gravity

Chances are, you’ve played some version of Defying Gravity as a child. The challenge involves keeping balloons afloat without letting them touch the ground. While it sounds pretty easy, it’s actually quite difficult, as there are three balloons rather than just one. Things can easily get out of control for the player who isn’t careful, causing their dreams of winning to quickly deflate. Click here to read the Defying Gravity full review and see the game being played.

19. Candelier

Chandelier

Like the other stacking games, Candlier presents a challenge, but this one is a bit unique. Rather than stacking cups, this one involves stacking soda cans in an inverted pyramid. This unique aspect of the game makes it more difficult, but also more fun. We love the creativity and ease of set-up to Candelier. It’s definitely not easy, and one false move or imbalanced can could get the player canned from the game!  Click here to read the Candelier full review and see the game being played.

20. Stick the Landing

Stick the Landing

It’s time to play water bottle gymnast with this fun challenge! While it might seem like a lot of tossing and throwing, there is a point, and that is to stick the landing (toss the water bottle so that it lands on a table right-side up). But this is more difficult than it seems, and if it’s not completed within 60 seconds, the player’s hopes of winning will topple! Click here to read the Stick the Landing full review and see the game being played.

21. Spudnick

Spudnick

We love this particular game because it’s so quirky and funny. Players will need to build their own miniature (and somewhat creepier) version of Spudnick the satellite, which they will use to balance candies. While this seems like a very juvenile game, especially in comparison to some of the others, it’s definitely not as easy as it seems. Players who don’t take it seriously could fail and all chances of winning will be fried. Click here to read the Spudnick full review and see the game being played.

22. Bobble Head

Bobblehead

Bobble Head is no doubt a hilarious addition to family game night, and although the materials needed and set-up are a bit more complicated than some of the other challenges, we think this one is really fun. For this fun and wonky challenge, players get “a-head” by nodding to create counts on a pedometer. Click here to read the Bobble Head full review and see the game being played.

23. Noodling Around

Noodling Around

We love the creativity of Noodling Around, and this is another challenge that is perfect for games involving kids. It requires minimal set-up and materials, and offers up a pretty substantial challenge. In order to win this one, you can’t drop the pasta, so make sure you use your noodle! Click here to read the Noodling Around full review and see the game being played.

24. Pink Elephant

Pink Elephant

This is such a unique Minute to Win It game, and really requires players to concentrate on the task at hand. It may not be the most hilarious challenge, but players will certainly have their hands full trying to complete the challenge while receiving shouted tips and excited advice from the peanut gallery! Click here to read the Pink Elephant full review and see the game being played.

25. Movin’ On Up

Movin' on Up

It’s a great chance for skilled players to stack up some points. Click here to read the Movin’ On Up full review and see the game being played.

26. Penny Hose

Penny Hose

Penny Hose has a huge laugh factor, which we love, and it’s also incredibly challenging. This game is fun for those who are playing and those who are watching. It requires very little set up and only a few materials that most people have on hand. When playing head to head, keep your eye on your opponents or                    you could get hosed. Click here to read the Penny Hose full review and see the game being played.

27. Paper Scraper

Paper Scraper

If you’ve ever dreamed of being an architect, now is your chance! Paper scraper is a fun and difficult challenge that requires players to build paper skyscrapers. Balance and a steady hand is key in this challenge. Those who don’t take their time and get it right will see their chances of winning torn to shreds. Click here to read the Paper Scraper full review and see the game being played.

28. Punch Your Lights Out

Punch Your Lights Out

Punch Your Lights Out brings a significant amount of creativity and uniqueness to the Minute to Win It game lineup. It’s super fun and requires good aim as well as speed in order to win. While this is one of the best games we’ve seen, it sits a little higher on our list due to the semi-complicated set-up as well as the need for materials players may not have on hand. Still, the preparation is definitely worth it, and it may   just be “lights out” for players who aren’t bringing their A game. Click here to read the Punch Your Lights Out full review and see the game being played.

29. On the Hook

On the Hook

With this exciting Minute to Win It game, players must go “fishing,” but not in the traditional way! With this type of fishing, some odd supplies are used, and best of all, no hands! It requires dexterity and speed, and it’s so fun and exciting that it’s easy to get hooked on this game. Click here to read the On the Hook full review and see the game being played.

30. Nimble Thimble

Nimble Thimble

The game coming in at number 30 on our Top 30 list is Nimble Thimble. Reminiscent of some of the other Minute to Win It games, Nimble Thimble involves bouncing marbles into containers, except these are quite small containers! The creativity and fun factor is certainly high and while it’s not the funniest challenge, it’s definitely one of the best. The challenge is so addicting that players who are unable to complete it could risk losing their marbles! Click here to read the Nimble Thimble full review and see the game being played.

1. Dizzy Mummy Difficulty Level: 3

Our top choice for Minute to Win It games is Dizzy Mummy. The player attempts to wrap himself or herself from head to toe in toilet paper by spinning in circles. We love it because it’s so easy to set up, but it’s quite difficult to pull off in just 60 seconds. Plus, it’s hilarious for all other players to watch.

What You Need:

  • 1 Roll of Toilet Paper

How to Play:

  1. The player completing the challenge will need a little assistance from another player.
  2. The assistant will hold a roll of toilet tissue and the player will take the end in one hand.
  3. When the clock starts, the player will spin in circles, attempting to cover himself or herself completely with the tissue.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Have the assistant adjust the toilet tissue up and down as the player spins in an attempt to get all areas covered.
  2. Make sure the room is clear of potential hazards that could trip or injure the player.

You can’t play this game without capturing it on video so you can laugh at it all over again later!

2. How’s It Hangin’ Difficulty Level: 4

We had a difficult time choosing between this and Dizzy Mummy for first place, but we do think Dizzy Mummy is a little bit more kid-friendly. However, this game is unbelievably hilarious and the embarrassment factor for the player just makes it more funny. This one requires a little more set-up time, and a few more items.

What You Need:

  • 1 Banana
  • 2 Oranges (or other round fruit)
  • Hula Hoop
  • String

How to Play:

  1. Tie the string to the banana and make sure it’s secure.
  2. Tie the other end of the string to the waist band of the player’s pants, in the front. The banana should be hanging just above the ground.
  3. Place the hula hoop on the ground and the two oranges on the ground outside the hula hoop, a few feet away.
  4. The player must use only the banana to move both oranges inside the hula hoop.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Larger bananas and oranges are better, as they are easier to hit.
  2. Make sure that string is tied securely – you don’t want to have to stop in the middle of the game!
  3. Use large enough string to get that banana moving – thread or even thin yarn probably won’t work. Clothesline is the perfect type of string.

Make sure that timer is set, because the other players will be laughing so hard at this challenge, they’d probably never notice if time ran out!

3. Mad Dog Difficulty Level: 2.5

This challenge, while being hilarious, is actually pretty difficult. The player must move his head sideways and up and down in order to empty two TicTac containers before the time is up. If they can pull it off, they earn the title of Top Dog!

What You Need:

  • A Ruler
  • 2 Boxes of TicTacs (normal size)
  • Tape

How to Play:

  1. The two TicTac boxes are placed at each end of the ruler. The tape is used to secure the boxes to the ruler, and the TicTac boxes are opened.
  2. The player places the ruler in his or her mouth, centered. The TicTac boxes are at each end and the player’s mouth is in the center.
  3. The player must move his or her head back and forth, up and down and sideways in an attempt to empty the TicTac containers before the 60 seconds runs out.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Make sure you’re playing with the normal sizes of TicTacs. The larger sizes can be extremely difficult to empty in one minute, and may not stay well-secured to the ruler.
  2. In addition to moving your head up and down and sideways, rolling your head (as if you were doing neck exercises) can really help get the TicTacs to fall out.

This is another amazing opportunity to capture a truly hilarious video! A little less embarrassing than some of the other challenges, Mad Dog is fun for the whole family.

4. Card Ninja Difficulty Level: 4

Card Ninja really tests the player’s aiming and tossing skills, and is the perfect Minute to Win It game to play in head to head format against another opponent. This is certainly not the most unique of all the games, but it inspires healthy competition and is really fun.

What You Need:

  • Watermelon (cut in half)
  • Large Bowl
  • Deck of Cards (or a couple of decks, as the cards get ruined really quickly)

How to Play:

  1. The watermelon half sits on its side in the bowl, with the inside (pink) part toward the player.
  2. The player holds a deck of cards in preparation to throw them when the clock starts.
  3. When the clock starts, the player flicks the cards (one by one) toward the watermelon, in an attempt to get one to stick in the soft pink part of the fruit before the minute is up.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. If you enjoy this challenge, stock up on decks of cards, as you will go through them quickly.
  2. Higher-quality cards are better, since they are typically thicker and made of better materials and can be thrown better and farther.
  3. Larger watermelons are easier to hit, but for pro-style challenges, use small watermelons.

This is one of our favorite games, which is why it ranks so high on our list. We’d love to see this one attempted relay-style with large groups competing, with the active player being switched as soon as the card sticks into the watermelon.

5. Match Maker Difficulty Level: 4

Match Maker is like a totally upgraded and active version of the “Match” card game, except with candy! Players must sort candies hidden under cups, one at a time, by running them around the playing area to the corresponding storage cup. Focusing more on skills than the laughter aspect, this is a fantastic and intense game.

What You Need:

  • 21 Plastic Cups
  • 18 Color-Coated Candies (6 Red, 6 Green, 6 Yellow)
  • Table for Set-Up

How to Play:

  1. To start, 18 cups are set upside down on the table and each has a piece of colored candy underneath it.
  2. Near the playing area, 3 cups are set up to collect the candies. They should be colored cups (red, green and blue) or should have the words red, green and blue written on them.
  3. When the clock starts, the player will turn over the first cup and retrieve the candy from under it. He or she will take the candy to it’s corresponding storage cup.
  4. This continues, one cup at a time, until all of the candies have been sorted and are in their storage cups.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Keep your wits about you and make sure you’re placing the colored candies in their correct storage cups!
  2. This one is more about speed than skill, so keep those feet moving quickly. There are 18 candies to place and only 60 seconds, so you only have a little over 3 seconds for each candy if you want to win!

Perfect for a head to head challenge, Match Maker is one of the most exciting Minute to Win It challenges.

6. Junk in the Trunk Difficulty Level: 4.5

Shake your hips, jump up and down, drop it like it’s hot; whatever you have to do to get all of the ping pong balls out of the tissue box strapped to your…well, your behind. This challenge is hilarious for the audience, and quite difficult for the challenging player! These factors make it one of our absolute favorites, and the reason it’s so high on our list of the top 30.

You Will Need:

  • 6 Ping Pong Balls
  • 1 Empty Tissue Box
  • 1 Belt
  • 2 Rubber Bands

How to Play:

  1. First, the rubber bands are used to secure the tissue box to the belt. It should be centered, so that when the belt is attached in the front, the tissue box sits right above the challenging player’s behind.
  2. The 6 ping pong balls are placed inside the tissue box and the belt is strapped around the player’s waist.
  3. When the clock starts, the player must move his or her hips, shake their body, or do whatever is necessary to get the ping pong balls to fall out of the tissue box before the time is up.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Be sure to purchase the larger box of tissues (rectangular instead of square), because the smaller boxes are more difficult to strap onto the player.
  2. It’s best if you have an adjustable belt so that every player can quickly be strapped in and the tissue box will be secure.
  3. Jumping up and down in combination with hip movements seems to be the best way to get the ping pong balls to fly up enough to fall out of the box.

We just love this game, and we’re sure you will too! Just be sure to record this one for later, as it’s a super funny challenge and you will definitely want to re-live it.

7. Ka Broom Difficulty Level: 4.5

A fast-paced and intense challenge, Ka Broom is perhaps one of the most difficult challenges on our list. It doesn’t require a lot of set-up, but the game play is a bit complicated and will require some dexterity from players. The goal is to use a broom to catapult marshmallows from a paper plate into a cup the player is holding. This one is a ton of fun and very unique.

What You Need:

  • 3 Marshmallows
  • 3 Paper Plates
  • 1 Broom
  • 1 Cup

How to Play:

  1. To set up the challenge, three paper plates are placed on the edge of a table, with about half the plates hanging off the edge of the table. Marshmallows are placed on the sides of the plates farthest away from the table edge. The player holds the broom (handle side up) in their right hand and the cup in their left.
  2. With the bristle side of the broom under the player’s right foot, the player should position himself or herself in front of the first plate, approximately 5 feet from the table.
  3. When the clock starts, the player lets go of the broom so that it falls and hits the part of the plate hanging over the edge of the table. The marshmallow will then be catapulted into the air.
  4. The player attempts to catch the marshmallow in the cup they’re holding. In order to win the challenge, the player must catch 3 marshmallows in the cup before time runs out.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. It’s essential to find the right distance from the table so that the broom falls just right. It should hit the edge of the plate and catapult the marshmallow both  high and out, making it easier to catch. Experiment with the distance before playing.
  2. Use a larger cup (and lighter) to make catching the marshmallow easier.
  3. If possible, use paper plates with no raised rim that can hit the marshmallow and make it fly crooked or straight out.

We love this challenge and find it both entertaining and difficult. This is a great one for games involving children and adults.

8. Nose Dive Difficulty Level: 2.5

This challenge involves moving cotton balls from one bowl to another using nothing but your nose! It’s the perfect addition to family game night, and requires little set-up. We love that it combines speed with skill to create an intense, exciting game.

You Will Need:

  • A Bowl of Cotton Balls
  • Petroleum Jelly
  • An Empty Bowl
  • A Paper Plate

How to Play:

  1. Petroleum jelly is placed on a paper plate, and the bowl of cotton balls is positioned next to it. The empty bowl is positioned a few feet away.
  2. When the clock starts, the player dips his or her nose into the petroleum jelly to place some on the tip of their nose. They then attempt to pick up one of the cotton balls using only their nose.
  3. When the player has secured a cotton ball, they move to the empty bowl and deposit it there, without using their hands. They must transfer 5 of the cotton balls from the full bowl to the empty one without using their hands before the 60 seconds is up.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. It’s important to get the right amount of petroleum jelly; too much or too little could cause the cotton ball to fall!
  2. Pick up only one cotton ball at a time!
  3. You can’t use your hands, so it’s important to master a method for depositing the cotton ball into the empty bowl; brushing your nose against the edge of the bowl is a great way!

We love this game and feel that it’s an exciting, fun addition to a family Minute to Win It game night. For this reason, it comes in at number 8 on our list!

9. Sticky Situation Difficulty Level: 3.5

With this fun game, players must bounce a ping pong ball just right in order to land it on a piece of bread covered in peanut butter. Sounds easy, right? It’s a little more difficult than it sounds, but super fun. The set-up is fairly easy and while the challenge requires a few more supplies than some of the others, we think it’s a fun and exciting game that’s perfect for kids and adults.

What You Need:

  • Slice of Bread Covered in Peanut Butter
  • Plate
  • Ping Pong Balls
  • Table

How to Play:

  1. The bread covered with peanut butter is placed on a plate and sat on a table. The player holds the first ping pong ball in preparation for the challenge.
  2. When the clock starts, the player throws the ping pong ball at the ground, in an attempt to get it to bounce once and then land on the bread.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. It’s essential to aim correctly so that once the ping pong ball bounces, it lands on the peanut butter bread correctly. Warm up with a few bounces to get your aim on point.
  2. Make sure there is enough peanut butter on the bread to keep the ping pong ball from bouncing back off once it hits the bread.
  3. The ideal distance from the player to the table is approximately 5-6 feet.

This is a great game that’s perfect for children and adults, and an exciting addition to game night!

 10. Extreme Hanky Panky Difficulty Level: 3

It’s Hanky Panky doubled in this super fun game that requires players to completely empty two tissue boxes (one tissue at a time) before the 60 seconds is up. This one is certainly intense and challenging, and requires players to call upon their dexterity and speed in order to win. Kids love this one because they get to make a mess on purpose and potentially win at the same time!

What You Need:

  • 2 Full Boxes of Tissues (for each player)

How to Play:

  1. The tissues are opened before the clock starts, and placed on two tables or surfaces. The player stands or sits in the middle of the boxes, designating one hand for each box.
  2. When the clock starts, the player begins removing tissues from the boxes with both hands, pulling one tissue out of each box at a time.
  3. The player must empty both boxes of tissues before the minute is up in order to win the challenge.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Try alternating your hand movements in a right, left, right, left (or vice versa) pattern, which makes it easier to get into a rhythm and remove all of the tissues from both boxes.
  2. Keep the tissue boxes at the perfect length from your arms; if they’re too close or too far away it can be difficult to remove the tissues, and can take a longer amount of time.
  3. There are about 80 tissues in a normal-sized box of tissues, so you will be removing 160 tissues. This means that in order to complete the challenge, you will need to remove at least 3 tissues per second.

Extreme Hanky Panky is a challenging but fun game, and we feel it meets all of the criteria to be in our top 30 list!

11. Hangnails Difficulty Level: 4.5

The ultimate game of concentration and agility, Hangnails forces players to slow down and move with care rather than speed. The materials required are most likely already present in the home, and set-up isn’t too difficult. This is an exciting and intense game that is perfect for children and adults alike.

What You Need:

  • 6 31/2″ Flat Head Nails
  • 1 Piece of String (at least several feet in length)

How to Play:

  1. The string is secured at both ends (tied around doorknobs, pinned to the walls, etc.) before the challenge begins.
  2. The player must hang all 6 nails by the head on the string within the 60 seconds in order to win.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Be sure the string is absolutely taut, or it could move easily causing the nails to fall off.
  2. Using the suggested size nails is best, as they are easier to hang. Those with a smaller head or lip will be more difficult to hang.
  3. Be extremely careful not to bump the string, as this could make all the other nails fall and will require the player to start over.

Hangnails requires players to draw from their concentration skills and is an intense, fun game that can quickly become addicting.

12. Mouth to Mouth Difficulty Level: 4

You’ve seen the “pull the tablecloth” trick requiring the performer to remove the tablecloth quickly and without disturbing the table settings. Well, this one is very similar except it requires the player to remove a dollar bill from between two bottles stacked mouth to mouth…without knocking over the bottles.

What You Need:

  • 2 Bottles of Exact Same Shape and Size
  • 1 Dollar Bill

How to Play:

  1. The game is set up by stacking the bottles like so: the bottom bottle is placed right-side up, the dollar bill is placed over the mouth of the bottle. Then, the top bottle is placed upside down, with the mouth directly on top of the dollar bill and the mouth of the bottom bottle.
  2. The player attempts to remove the dollar bill from between the bottles without knocking the bottles over. If he or she knocks the bottles over, they must place the bottles back in the starting position and try again. They must successfully remove the dollar without knocking the bottles over before the minute is up.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. The player must remove the dollar very quickly in order to do so without disturbing the bottles.
  2. Rather than trying to pull the dollar bill straight out, try to remove it in an out/down position.
  3. Holding the dollar bill with your thumb and forefinger, use your other finger to hit the dollar bill quickly, in a downward angle, between your thumb and forefinger and the mouths of the bottles.

This is an exciting and difficult challenge that only the swiftest and savviest players can pull off. If you don’t get it at first, then try, try again!

13. Mega Bubble Difficulty Level: 3.5

We love this challenge and its creativity and uniqueness. The player acts the part of the lion tamer, or should we say “bubble tamer,” and works to manipulate a bubble through a hoop five feet away using only their breath! This is a hilarious and fun challenge that is perfect for families playing Minute to Win It with children.

What You Need:

  • Hula Hoop
  • Bubbles

How to Play:

  1. A hula hoop is set up 5 feet away from the player or players.
  2. When the clock starts, players blow a bubble and attempt to maneuver it (using only their breath) across those 5 feet and through the hula hoop. Players must get the bubble through the hoop within 1 minute to win the challenge.
  3. If the bubble bursts or goes in a different direction and players cannot retrieve it, they must go back to the start and blow another bubble.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Stick with a fairly medium-sized bubble. Those that are too small will be very difficult to maneuver, while those that are too large risk popping before they reach the hoop.
  2. Start with small puffs of breath, as large ones can make the bubble fly faster, and make it more difficult to control.

This is a creative challenge that is not only funny to watch, but is intense and exciting for both the players and their audience.

14. Rapid Fire Difficulty Level: 3

Rapid Fire is an intense, exciting game that requires great aim and speed. The goal is to use only a rubber band to knock down a pyramid of empty soda cans. This is a great challenge for older kids and adults, and meets all of our Top 30 criteria: fun factor, laugh factor, uniqueness and creativity. The set-up is quite easy and it works very well as a head to head game.

You Will Need:

  • 6 Empty Soda Cans (per player)
  • Several Rubber Bands
  • Table or Stool

How to Play:

  1. The set-up is as follows: 6 soda cans are set up in a pyramid (3 on the bottom, 2 in the middle and 1 at the top). The cans are placed on a stool or table approximately 6-8 feet from the player.
  2. The player attempts to knock the soda cans over by flicking rubber bands at the pyramid. They must knock the entire pyramid over before the 60 seconds is up.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. This particular challenge is all about aim, so warming up with the rubber bands before the challenge is a great idea.
  2. Aim for the bottom cans, as when those are knocked over, the others typically follow suit.

Rapid Fire is an addictive, fun Minute to Win It challenge that is super easy to set up. The best part about it is that it’s so fast-paced that it’s exciting for the audience to watch as well, and if you’re playing the head to head version, they can cheer and root for their favorite player.

15. Hoop de Loop Difficulty Level: 3

Forget ring toss, Hoop de Loop is so much more fun. For this challenge, players or teams will need to manipulate a hula hoop across the floor and over the soda bottle targets to win. Not only does this one require some serious skills with a hoop, but speed and dexterity. Kids love this one, and it’s fun for adults as well.

You Will Need:

  • 1 Hula Hoop
  • 3 Soda Bottles (filled with water)

How to Play:

  1. The player stands with the hula hoop before the clock starts. Three soda bottles are filled with water and set up in a triangle (one in the front and two behind and flanking the first).
  2. When the clock starts, the player attempts to roll the hula hoop in such a way that it travels to the soda bottles and “rings” them.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Sometimes less is more. Roll the hula hoop carefully rather than starting out with a forceful roll that is likely to fly past the soda bottles.
  2. Hula hoops with things inside of them (water or noise-makers) will be more difficult to roll than the regular empty ones, so make sure you give yourself an advantage by purchasing one free of items inside.

Hoop de Loop is fun for the whole family, and with very little set-up and few materials required, this game gets an A+ for convenience and entertainment factor!

16. Bucket Head Difficulty Level: 4

For this challenge, players will not only have to draw on their talent of balancing, but will need to be pretty good at aiming and catching as well. The point is to bounce a ping pong ball off the floor, and then the wall, and catch it in a bucket balanced on top of the head with one hand. Sounds pretty complicated, right? Well, it’s certainly not easy but it’s a lot of fun and we feel it’s a wonderful game to play with family.

What You Need:

  • Several Ping Pong Balls
  • Bucket or Pail
  • Bowl
  • Table

How to Play:

  1. The ping pong balls are placed in a bowl on a table near where the player will stand. They should stand with a wall about 5-6 feet in front of them. He or she balances the pail or bucket on their head with one hand and takes a ping pong ball in the other hand.
  2. When the clock starts, the player will bounce the ping pong ball on the floor, with the goal of making it hit the wall in front of them and bounce up into the air.
  3. They will then attempt to catch the ping pong ball in the bucket balanced on their head. They must catch 3 ping pong balls in the bucket before the 60 seconds is up.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Be sure to balance the bucket with your non-dominant hand and toss the ping pong balls with your dominant hand.
  2. It’s not always how hard you throw the ping pong ball, but where it bounces that can help you win. Make sure you’re throwing it straight rather than at an angle. Throwing it straight will ensure that it hits the wall and flies into the air straight, making it easier to catch.
  3. Try increasing the size of your bucket if you’re not doing well – after all, the larger the bucket, the easier it is to catch the ball.

Bucket Head may not be the most hilarious challenge, but it’s easy to set up, is a lot of fun, and is quite challenging. Try it yourself to see how much fun it can be!

17. This Blows Difficulty Level: 3.5

Another challenge involving balloons, This Blows requires players to blow up balloons and use the air inside of them to knock over a whole line of cups on a table. Not only does it require speed, but aim and agility as well. While the laugh factor on this one isn’t too high, it’s definitely intense and exciting, and great entertainment for those who are watching.

You Will Need:

  • 1 Balloon (per player)
  • 15 Plastic or Foam Cups

How to Play:

  1. The challenge is set-up by placing 15 cups upside down on a table. The player is given a balloon before the clock starts.
  2. When the clock starts, the player will blow up the balloon and use the air inside of it to knock over the cups on the table. They must blow the balloon back up when it runs out of air and knock all 15 cups off the table within 60 seconds to win the challenge.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. As the balloon is expressing air, move it in a line near the cups. This will help you knock over a few cups rather than just one at a time, which will take too long.
  2. Pointing the balloon up toward the cups rather than head on can help knock them off balance more easily.

This Blows is exciting and fun for adults and kids alike. We love the idea and the convenience of set-up, as well as the fact that the items are easily obtainable.

18. Defying Gravity Difficulty Level: 2.5

For this challenge, players must keep 3 balloons afloat without letting them hit the ground for the entire minute. We love the throwback to the kids’ game that is quite similar, as well as the ease of set-up and the fact that very few items are required for this challenge. It’s intense, exciting and requires a lot of coordination and agility.

You Will Need:

  • 3 Inflated Balloons

How to Play:

  1. The 3 balloons are inflated before the clock starts. The player holds them as he or she waits for the clock to start.
  2. When the clock starts, the player tosses the balloons and then must keep them afloat (without touching the ground at all) for the entire minute. If a balloon touches the ground, the player loses the challenge.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. It’s best to try and keep the 3 balloons fairly close together, so when tossing them, make it a small toss.
  2. Keep the balloons afloat by tapping rather than hitting them. Hitting the balloons hard can cause them to scatter in different directions and can make the challenge nearly impossible to win.

Defying Gravity is a wonderful Minute to Win It game that gets players moving and really gives them a fantastic challenge. It’s fun to play and to watch!

19. Candelier Difficulty Level: 4

Though this challenge doesn’t involve balloons, it is a bit like our last challenge in that the player will be attempting to defy gravity. Five tiers of cans must be stacked in an inverted pyramid (meaning that the bottom tier will have just one can while the top tier will have five cans), without falling over! Not only will players have to be careful, but they will have to be fast. This is a great addition to any game night!

You Will Need:

  • 15 Empty Soda Cans
  • 4 Paper Plates
  • Table or Solid Surface

How to Play:

  1. When the clock starts, the player begins stacking his or her cans to create an inverted pyramid. A single can goes at the bottom with a paper plate on top, followed by two cans and a paper plate, then three cans and so on until the player has stacked five cans at the top of the pyramid.
  2. The pyramid (with the five tiers) must be fully created and balanced within a minute in order to win this challenge.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Balance is key. While trying to go fast to beat the clock, be sure to balance correctly. Once false move could send your pyramid crashing to the ground.
  2. Spreading the cans out some rather than huddling them all in the middle can help provide stability and balance.
  3. Make sure the tabs are gone from the cans, as they can throw the plates off balance and prevent you from winning the challenge.

Candelier is super fun and can become addicting, especially for those who haven’t mastered it yet. It’s easy to set up and fun to watch, even if you’re not the one playing.

20. Stick the Landing Difficulty Level: 3

This exciting challenge is perfect for a head to head match and requires very little to play: just a water bottle and a table or solid surface. The point is to toss the bottle until you’re able to make it land right-side up. It sounds easy but it’s harder than you think! We love the simplicity of this one and the fact that it combines the demand for speed with a need for good aim and skill.

You Will Need:

  • A Water Bottle (for each player)

How to Play:

  1. Before the challenge, the water bottle is half-filled with water. The player holds the bottle and stands approximately 5 feet away from the table.
  2. When the clock starts, the player tosses the bottle in an attempt to get it to land right-side up on the table. They must land the bottle correctly within the allotted 60 seconds to win the challenge.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Rather than simply tossing the bottle, toss it with a backward pull so that the bottle flips end over end through the air. This will give the greatest chances of having the bottle land correctly.
  2. Make sure the bottle is only half-filled with water rather than all the way, as a full bottle will not flip as well in the air and will make it more difficult to win the challenge. Similarly, a less than half full bottle will not travel as far and can make the task harder.

Stick the Landing is a fun and difficult challenge that is perfect for adults and children alike. Set-up is very minimal and the material requirements are very little.

21. Spudnick Difficulty Level: 3.5

Named for Spudnick the satellite (presumably because of the ever-so-slight resemblance), this challenge requires players to place bendy straws into potatoes and then balance candies on the ends of those straws. It’s extremely creative and has a big laugh factor, as well as being tons of fun.

What You Need:

  • 1 Potato (per player)
  • 5 Bendy Straws (per player)
  • 5 Candy-Coated Chocolates (per player)

How to Play:

  1. When the clock starts, players begin inserting bendy straws into a potato. The long end of the straw should be the end inserted into the potato.
  2. Once the 5 straws are in the potato, players ill need to balance a candy on the end of the straw that is sticking up. This must be completed within 1 minute in order for the player to win.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. When attempting to insert the straws, it’s best to “stab” the potato and use plenty of force rather than attempting to just push it in.
  2. Be sure to insert the straws so that all of the bending sides are the same; having to twist or re-insert the straw will waste valuable time.

Spudnick is a cute and funny challenge that is perfect for games played with children. It’s also great fun for adults, too, who will find it a little more difficult than it really seems.

22. Bobble Head Difficulty Level: 3.5

Bobble Head is a funny, difficult challenge that can leave you feeling a little dizzy! This one comes in at number 22 on our list, because it’s a bit more difficult to set up and requires items that may not be readily available. However, if you do have the items lying around, it can be a super-fun addition to your Minute to Win It game lineup.

What You Need:

  • Headband
  • Pedometer

How to Play:

  1. The pedometer is hooked to the headband prior to the clock starting. It is then placed on the head of the player.
  2. When the clock starts, the player nods their head to make the pedometer count. The goal is to make the pedometer count to 125 before the minute is up.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Make sure the pedometer is reset to 0 before starting the challenge.
  2. Though it may seem like vigorous movement is required, simple nodding will work, and will be much less headache-inducing!
  3. This is a great team challenge if you have more than one pedometer!

Bobble Head is super funny, so make sure you have a recorder handy to get it all down!

23. Noodling Around Difficulty Level: 2

https://youtube.com/watch?v=pNoSOw8M4Eg

Dexterity, speed, and skill are all required in this fun, family-friendly challenge that requires players to place 6 pieces of penne pasta onto a spaghetti noodle at once. It has the potential to be pretty funny, so it has the laugh factor we love, and it’s serious fun.

What You Need:

  • 6 Pieces of Penne Pasta (any large, tubular pasta noodle will work, such as rigatoni, etc.)
  • Several Pieces of Spaghetti Pasta

How to Play:

  1. The 6 pieces of penne pasta are placed around a table (or in a line, if you prefer) and the challenge player is given a spaghetti noodle. He or she will start the game with the noodle in his or her mouth.
  2. When the clock starts, the player must use only the noodle to pick up all 6 pieces of the penne pasta before the time runs out.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. In the rush of trying to pick up the penne pasta, angel-hair spaghetti noodles can break and take up precious time. Be sure to buy the larger spaghetti noodles to play this challenge.
  2. While any tubular noodle will work in place of penne pasta, be sure to purchase larger pasta. Smaller pasta can be more difficult to pick up and may decrease your chances of winning.
  3. In order to make sure the penne pasta stays on the spaghetti noodle, try giving your head a small toss back after you’ve picked up a piece of pasta to keep it from falling off.

We love the creativity with this game! It’s fun, but it’s also a pretty good challenge, so don’t assume you’ve got it in the bag before you’ve tried it.

24. Pink Elephant Difficulty Level: 4.5

We love the uniqueness of this challenge, as well as the difficulty level. It’s one of those challenges that get under your skin; you won’t be able to rest until you’ve completed it, even if it takes all night!

What You Need:

  • Elastic Headband (preferably a thick, wide one)
  • Slinky

How to Play:

  1. To assemble the elephant’s trunk, the headband is placed on the head and the first 5 coils are placed behind the headband (between the headband and the player’s forehead), with the remaining coils hanging out in front.
  2. When the clock starts, the player moves his or her head and body in an attempt to make the slinky come up and together, to rest on the player’s forehead.
  3. The slinky must rest on the player’s forehead, with all coils together, for at least 3 seconds for the challenge to be completed.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. You do not want to play this challenge with a metal slinky, which is heavy and could hurt players or be potentially dangerous.
  2. Keep small rubber bands on hand to tighten the headband (if needed), since everyone’s head isn’t the same size. This is especially helpful if you’re playing the game with children.
  3. Don’t use only your head to attempt this challenge; moving your body can be helpful as well. Kneeling lower as the slinky is tossed up can give you the advantage you need to win this challenge.

While this is one of the more difficult challenges on our list, it’s still a very fun one and perfect for whatever format of the game you choose, whether it’s head to head or against the clock.

25. Movin’ On Up Difficulty Level: 4

https://youtube.com/watch?v=xseM9NQxlGA

This challenge, reminiscent of cup-stacking games, requires a player to move one cup at a time from the top of a stack to the bottom continuously until they move every cup and reach the top of their stack again.

What You Need:

  • 39 Red Plastic Cups
  • 1 Blue Plastic Cup

How to Play:

  1. The cups are stacked together, the blue cup at the bottom. The player holds the stack in his or her hands.
  2. When the clock starts, the player moves the top red cup to the bottom of the stack, and then continues in this manner until they reach the blue cup once again and move it to the bottom where it was originally.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Make sure these are brand new cups! Cups with even a slight amount of moisture inside can stick together and make this challenge impossible.
  2. A little lotion on the hands before this challenge will make it easier to grip the cups and keep them from falling out of your hands.
  3. Be careful not to drop the stack! Players who drop the stacks will lose precious time picking them up before continuing with the challenge.

This particular Minute to Win It game falls in at number 25 on our list because it’s super easy to set up and is quite a difficult challenge, especially the first time around.

26. Penny Hose Difficulty Level: 4

https://youtube.com/watch?v=48cwIwJPYfI

For players who want a chance to show off their dexterity, Penny Hose is definitely the game to play. The goal is to remove coins from the bottom of a pair of pantyhose by placing one hand each inside the legs. While it sounds fairly easy, it’s actually quite difficult to pull off.

What You Need:

  • 1 Pair of Panty Hose
  • 2 Coins

How to Play:

  1. Before the clock starts, a coin is placed in each leg of the pair of pantyhose.
  2. When the clock starts, the player begins by placing one hand in each leg of the pantyhose. The goal is to move both hands all the way down the legs and retrieve the coins, before removing the pantyhose from the hands/arms. The hands must work independently and one cannot aid the other.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. This is an incredibly difficult challenge. The best way to move the hands forward is by moving the fingers and bunching the fabric.
  2. Using a pair of large pantyhose can make this challenge easier by preventing the fabric from becoming too tight around the arms and refusing to budge.

We love the uniqueness and creativity of this challenge, as well as the fact that it’s just as entertaining to the audience as it is to the player.

27. Paper Scraper Difficulty Level: 3

Paper Scraper is an intense and super-fun challenge that takes the tradition of building houses of cards and amps it up a bit. The goal is to build a 10-story house using just index cards within a minute. This one has the fun factor, the creativity and is also quite challenging. The set-up is a little bit complicated, since some of the paper needs to be folded first, but the fun is worth the preparation.

What You Need:

  • 30 Index Cards

How to Play:

  1. In preparation for the game, 20 of the index cards should be folded in half to create a crease down the center. The index cards are then placed on the table next to the player.
  2. When the clock starts, the player begins to build the tower using 2 of the bent cards and 1 flat card for each story. The player must build a 10-story tower before the minute is up in order to complete and win the challenge.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  • The trick for this challenge is balance. If the cards aren’t well balanced, the tower could topple over fairly easily. While trying to move quickly, it’s important to also move carefully and ensure that the cards are balanced.

Paper Scraper can be a fun head to head challenge, or the perfect game for a solitary player. Either way, this game is really exciting and encourages players to push the limits to get the tower built before the time runs out.

28. Punch Your Lights Out Difficulty Level: 3.5

Punch Your Lights Out is an amazingly fun game which requires players to turn off touch lights mounted on a wall by tossing bean bags at them. The goal is to turn all of the lights off before the minute is up. Though set-up is a bit complicated, this game is extremely fun and exciting.

What You Need:

  • 6 Battery-Operated Push Lights
  • Several Bean Bags

How to Play:

  1. In preparation for this challenge, the push lights should be mounted to a wall in a pyramid formation: 1 at the top, 2 below the first 1, and 3 below those 2. The bean bags are placed near the player, who should stand about 5-6 feet from the wall.
  2. When the clock starts, the player attempts to turn off the lights by tossing bean bags at them. The goal is to turn off all of the lights before the time is up.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Be careful when tossing these bean bags! Hitting a light a second time can turn it back on so that the challenge requires more time to complete.
  2. While there’s no need to throw the bean bag as hard as you can, it will require a sound toss in order to turn the light off.

Punch Your Lights Out is a game that’s great for adults, but it’s also great for families who enjoy Minute to Win It games. It’s unique, creative and a fun challenge for the other players to enjoy, even if they’re not involved in the challenge.

29. On the Hook Difficulty Level: 3.5

With On the Hook, players must collect a total of four keys by “fishing” them from the edge of a table using a hook created from a chopstick, string and paper clip. This game is incredibly fun and has the laugh factor, fun factor, creativity and uniqueness we were looking for. While set-up is a little more complicated than most other games, it’s worth it in the end and the items should all be present around your home.

What You Need:

  • 4 Keys
  • Length of String (about 9 inches long)
  • Paperclip
  • Chopstick

How to Play:

  1. The set-up is as follows: a “fishing pole” is created by attaching a piece of string to a chopstick on one and and a paperclip on the other. The paperclip is bent out on one side to create an upward-facing hook. The four keys are placed on the edge of a table, with their handles hanging over the edge.
  2. The player places the chopstick in his or her mouth in preparation for the clock to start.
  3. When the clock starts, the player moves with his or her head and attempts to catch the four keys on the paperclip “hook.” In order to win the challenge, players must collect all 4 keys.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. It’s important to make sure the paperclip is properly bent in order to pick up the keys. It’s also important to make sure the string is tied securely so it doesn’t drop off while you’re attempting to collect the keys. It will hold the weight of 4 keys at once, so make sure it’s super tight.
  2. It can be difficult to see the keys and whether you’re close to them when you have the chopstick in your mouth. You may have to rely on audience support to be sure!

On the Hook is a wonderful and exciting Minute to Win It game that is a great addition to a family game night. While set-up is a little complicated, the preparation is definitely worth the fun awaiting you!

30. Nimble Thimble Difficulty Level: 4.5

For this challenge, players must bounce marbles into 6 thimbles which have been placed upside-down on a table. Like the challenge, players must be nimble and quick to make this happen before the time runs out. While not everyone will have 6 thimbles on hand, the materials needed for this challenge aren’t hard to obtain.

You Will Need:

  • 6 Thimbles (for each player)
  • Bowl of Marbles
  • Double-Sided Tape

How to Play:

  1. To set the game up, a strip of double sided tape about 7 inches long should be placed on a table top. The thimbles should be spaced out along this tape upside down, evenly. The marbles are placed in a bowl and sat next to the player, which is near the table.
  2. When the clock starts, players bounce marbles onto the tabletop in an effort to get them to land inside the overturned thimbles. Players must get a marble inside each thimble within a minute’s time in order to win the challenge.

Tips to Master the Challenge:

  1. Start out slowly and softly; a large bounce isn’t needed to make the marble to where you want it. In fact, this could just end up sending it over the edge of the table.
  2. Attempt to “drop” the marble onto the table rather than throwing it. This will create less momentum, which may help you land the marble into the thimble.

Nimble Thimble is one of the most exciting Minute to Win It games available, and is sure to be a big hit with the group you often challenge with Minute to Win It games. It’s exciting and intense, and perfect for a head to head challenge.
