What Is Micro1?

Micro1 is a remote talent marketplace that connects skilled professionals with startups and companies working in AI, machine learning, and software development.

It's a leading AI-training job platform and excellent side hustle if you like making money with microtasks.

Like other AI-training gigs, Micro1 uses human experts to help verify, train, and improve AI models for its clients. In other words, as a Micro1 Expert, you're basically doing a lot of QA work and rating different AI responses to help improve these models overtime.

Micro1 is 100% free to join. It's also a great remote gig because it's looking for Experts from all over the world.

How Does Micro1 Work?

The process is to join Micro1 is fairly straightforward and should take you about 30 minutes.

You apply to join Micro1’s talent pool as an Expert. This involves uploading your resume/CV, listing your skills, and then taking part in an interview.

Micro1's interview is actually conducted by an AI Agent called Zara. In this interview, Zara asks you questions relating to your skillset. It's actually super interesting and kind of fun, and my interview lasted about 20 minutes long.

Note that you need a webcam and microphone to do this interview. I used my laptop's built-in webcam and microphone without any issues. And after the interview, I was notified that I passed and officially became Micro1 Certified.

If you pass the interview, you can login to your main Micro1 Dashboard and begin finding open, active jobs. Here's a screenshot of my account:

From here, you can start applying to jobs that seem like a good fit. Jobs can be part-time or full-time, and I like Micro1 since it looks for Experts from all over the world.

Some jobs are super beginner-friendly too, while others require niche knowledge. You can click on a job posting to learn more about the requirements, expectations, and pay as well which I love:

Many jobs require a bit of additional info. Some might require another short test or interview. But again, this can potentially lead to full-time work or a very lucrative side hustle that's flexible, so the effort is worth it.

Application & Interview Process

Like I mentioned, you have to pass the interview to become Micro1 Certified.

This whole process takes about 20-30 minutes. Don't get discouraged or intimidated though; it's super easy and actually kind of fun!

If you don't have a resume, use ChatGPT or an AI tool like Skywork to make a resume quickly. I did this by giving my LinkedIn profile to Skywork and got an awesome resume done in 30 seconds I used to apply.

After that, go into your interview calm and collected. You can also do a practice interview on Micro1's website if you want to shake off some of the rust and get a practice run in.

NOTE: If you pass Micro1's interview, you also have to verify your identity with a piece of government-issued ID, so keep this requirement in mind!

Earning Potential & Getting Paid

Earnings on Micro1 vary based on your skills, experience, and the type of role you land. So it's difficult to give an exact figure here.

Here are some general guidelines to keep in mind:

• Pay ranges anywhere from $5 per hour to $300+ per hour depending on the role
• Niche projects requiring advanced knowledge pay the most
• You can still find many beginner-projects in the $10 to $30 per hour range
• Many projects range from 10 hours per week to 40 hours per week
• Some Micro1 Experts get hired full-time by Micro1 or its clients

Micro1 also handles payments, which reduces the risk of late or missed pay. And they pay out Experts bi-weekly and pay with $USD which is another massive pro.
