Breaded Tofu

Tofu almost always goes unappreciated by kids. However with this recipe, you can introduce tofu in a fun and delicious way. Breaded tofu is a great snack for kids after a day in school. Moreover, they are nutritious and crunchy. Read on how to make your kids love tofu.

Ingredients

  • 1 carton extra-firm tofu
  • ¼ cup cornmeal
  • ¼ cup wholemeal flour
  • ¼ cup fine breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Remove the water of the tofu but retain it moist. Cut lengthwise into sixteen identical sized pieces.
  2. Mix the cornmeal, season, breadcrumbs and flour in a bowl. Put the mixture on a shallow plate and cover both sides of the tofu completely. Sprinkle with breadcrumb on top if necessary.
  3. Heat up olive oil in a frying pan. Fry up the tofu until they become golden brown. Flip them over for the other side to cook.
  4. It is best served with vegetables and brown rice.
