Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce

Give this 10 minute hot fudge recipe a try, and you'll never buy the stuff in a jar again...I promise! Delicious on ice cream or just about any dessert that needs a little extra chocolate like my Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie or Fudge Pie.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate & butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat (stir constantly).
  2. Add sugar, stir constantly until blended.
  3. Add milk, stir constantly 3 minutes or until sugar is dissolved (do not boil).
  4. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla & salt.

This is brilliant – and has me thinking about possibly making this into a peanut butter sauce recipe. We were just talking last night about how much we love peanut butter sauce but can only get it at Friendly’s anymore, it seems. Now you have me thinking 😉

Yum! We are going to be making some homemade ice cream this weekend. Maybe we’ll try the homemade hot fudge sauce too!
