The Budget Diet

A diet for your wallet...not your waistline!

planning a family road trip
Need a budget friendly vacation for Spring Break?

A road trip is a family vacation idea that will fit any budget and remind your children that money really does not grow on trees! Try this for your next road trip, and you’ll discover that everyone enjoys planning their part of the vacation!

#1. Let each member of the family plan a day of the road trip…from breakfast to activities to lodging!

#2. The only rules are that you set the daily budget and the distance parameters.

Last Spring Break, our family “road tested” this plan!!!!

Road Trip – Day 1: (planned by me!) San Antonio River Walk, dinner at MiTiera & a 4-star hotel room for less than $99…thanks to www.CheapOstay.com

Road Trip – Day 2: (planned by my 11 year old daughter) Sea World San Antonio

Road Trip – Day 3: (planned by my husband and my 15 year old son) Golf

Road Trip – Day 4: (planned by my 17 year old son) Hiking at Lost Maples State Park

The entire family loved “planning” our road trip, we stuck to our budget & we’ll do it again soon!
