Add artisitc touch to your plain shirts with bleach. DIY bleach shirts are perfect this summer!

Tee shirt is a year-round style. Whether you stroll around the park or out of town, you surely look stylish and sophisticated. However, a t-shirt should not always be plain. With bleach and water, you can turn those dull garments into fabulous ones. Find the instructions on how to add personal touch to your shirts.

What you need:

  1. Solid color shirts (no white)
  2. Bleach pen
  3. Liquid bleach
  4. Spray bottle

In this project, you need to use at least 50% cotton shirt. If less than that, the bleach might not work and this project becomes a fail. A hundred percent rayon is also ideal.

Grab the first shirt and insert a cardboard inside. This will protect the back side from the bleach. Take the bleach pen. Write or draw anything you want on the shirt. If finished, let it sit for about 10 minutes. You may notice the fabric start to change color. If not, take a look inside if the bleach is really taking effect.

Step 1: Use bleach pen to write or draw your pattern on the shirt.

Remove the cardboard. Take your shirt to the sink or tub and let the water flow to remove the bleach gel. After that, let it dry. You have the freedom to add designs to the shirt. Just make sure the shirt is dry before you add bleach.
